On a lighter note

Here are some sweet photos of baby E:

We're having some great stormy weather here today. The rain has really been coming down, and every now and then the sun peeks out too... reminds me of the saying "The devil's beating his wife." I've tried to look up where that phrase comes from and can't find much of anything. Apparently it's a saying that is common in the deep south, and having something to do with the devil's wife's (Lilith?) tears being represented by the rain. Anyway, it's so odd and I'd really like to know how it originated.

Regarding the previous post: I'm hanging in there. Life goes on. I keep thinking, "Next week I'll be better. Things will get better."

Hi Ashley,

Welcome to the secrets of Mother Hood. Congratulations on all your progress. The feeding does get easier and easier. I was like you in the beginning...I am still, (I have 3boys and 1 girl). So many things I really wish someone had told me. What I'm finding is that my own knowing-ness is the best.

I found a beautiful design of yours on Knitty. I am in love with it and would like to try it however I would like to ask you a question or two if you have time (brain space).

I have some beautiful varigated moreno alpaca wool but the gauge is slightly different from yours for the alpaca charcoal cap sleeves with attatchable sleeves pattern. Do you think this would make a huge difference to the outcome? I'm a beginning knitter so I'm very naive about the limitations of wools.

Your sight is so beautiful and I'm really looking forward to more of your patterns!

It does get easier. I was lucky, I nursed my little girl for 14 months and it was the easiest thing about her infancy...from the very beginning. I've heard horror stories from friends, but they all said it got better, easier and pain-free with time. I am wishing nothing but the best for you all, even if the best means not nursing (even though I am a very vocal, anti-formula, pro-breast feeding girl.) It's still about what is best for you and your little one. If Mama's happy, baby's happier.

BTW, he's absolutely beautiful! Of course!
